female citipati
male citipati
The citipati are rather strange dinosaurs as they are very similar to the oviraptors, although possessing feathers. Citipati are omnivorous and they mainly eat plants, fruit, small animals, and eggs, The male citipati are larger and colorful like with most male bird species, and during the mating season will show off their crest and large wings in a mating dance. These dances can be rather intimidating as attacking other dancing males is a common sight. like the oviraptor the citipati jaw is equipped with two bone like prongs in the roof of their mouths used for breaking into eggshells and other tough foods. Like some dinosaur species the citipati pair for life and are very protective over their nests. this species can mainly be found in the Western hillside but have been seen in the southern meadows. All these unique features make the citipati a very interesting dinosaur indeed.
